GOD IS ABOVE THE LAW

It is commonly believed that man is historically the one changing the laws on earth and religion is always a laggard to change.  This claim is true but not  with God. At one time the church would stand against an issue like abortion but the secular would pass a law and eventually the views of the churches would change. Presently, the LGBTs worldwide is fast gaining acceptance in many countries.  It is not surprising to know that one day same sex marriage will become a common place on earth.

In the biblical perspective, however, same sex marriage, and violence, and sodomy, and necromancy is even an old practice.  This is the reason why the old world was drowned and Sodom and Gomorrah were burned to ashes together with its neighboring cities.  Simply put, the things that are happening right now has been old.  The use of women as leaders and in the will of God are manifest in Deborah (the wife of Lapidoth), Huldah the prophetess (a prophetess in the time of King Josiah), Anna the prophetess (New Testament), Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, Mary the mother of Jesus, and many more.  The prophecies are even prophesying of women and a woman who will be called the Lord our righteousness.

Jeremiah 33:16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

The truth is that God is angry at sin.  He will not allow the earth to be destroyed by such values which corrupt and defile a man whom he made to be in his likeness.

Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Now, however,  to be biblically relevant in the experience with God the Spirit, who dwells in a man,  recall the times which he showed that his power is over the laws that is ever known to man.  He is above the law for he is the law.  An example of this is on the law of divorce which Moses allowed among the people of Israel.

Mark 10:4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
Matthew 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

In another instance, hear and read this, the prophet Elisha allowed Naaman the Syrian captain to enter into the house of the god Rimmon because he was a trusted man of the king of Syria. It was his duty to accompany the king in the worship times of the king.

2 Kings 5:18 In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.

All these shows, the power of God in that he creates and declares things that are right.  Knowing this, man must always seek counsel from God for the law written is never his law anymore.  It is the Voice that a man must hear so then it is faith.

So they who will live by the law shall be subject to the righteousness of the law:  and surely the law shall bring death upon all them who are under it for all are concluded to be under sin.  So what was weak in the law was made strong in faith.  The faith of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 41:22 Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

Now, the law brings forth diverse testimonies about the sword, the famine, the noisome beasts and the pestilence which are the four sore judgments of God.  So then, they who are under the law committed sin under the law and they were either plagued, or slain by the sword, or bitten by the fiery serpents, or died in the famine.

We learn from the past testimonies of the different generations under the law and from the testimonies of them who are under the faith like Abraham, Isaac, and David, and Jesus.

Now, the testimony of them who are under the law and of them who are under faith being disobedient are a similitude for both were judged for displeasing God.  Now, faith is not faith when the word comes from a man’s own spirit only. Meaning, the declaration of a thing is just a knowledge that puffs up from one's own mind and not the very one revealed by God.

Now, God is a Spirit and faith is a spirit; and God sends forth the spirit to create a man in his own image. However, the spirit is not under the law so that a man who is born of the spirit will never know which law is right and which path the spirit will have to take along the exceeding broad commandments of God that are already written both in the old and the new testaments. Clearly, God is changing his laws at will and pleasure.

They who have the knowledge and the understanding of the works and ways of God will see that the law is faith itself because it is not the one that is read, as it is written, but as it is spoken and heard.  The voice of the Lord is the key.

So we see Moses, making the brasen serpent which is against the written law which, says, not to make any graven or molten image in the likeness of anything on earth or in heaven. We see Jeremiah making the sons of Rechab who are Nazarites to drink wine.  We see the same Moses to marry an Ethiopian woman. We see God change his names despite of him saying that there will be no other name and that his name will be for ever.

So every miracle written as displayed by Moses and Jesus and the prophets of old even defied the laws of nature. Enoch, Elijah, and Jesus ascending up to heaven is against the law of gravity.  People rising from the dead is beyond medical science's explanation.  There are many other countless examples of God's power which defies the laws known to man.

This work and power of God was never understood by the ancient men and so they persecuted the prophets sent by God  and Christ they crucified, too.  Yea, even the religious people like the Pharisees and the Sadduccees could not believe on Jesus just as the prophets of Baal could not believe on Elijah. All these is because of the truth, saying, so then they who are in the spirit are not under the law.

Additionally, a proof to the transcendence of God over the written laws is by the fruit of the Spirit for against such there is no law.  There is no law that says it is against, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.  So then, God is above the Law or aptly, saying, He is the Law.  He declares things that are right.

Isaiah 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

Now, God has set everything right from the very beginning to allow eternal continuity of the eternal existence and operation of his creation.  The heaven and earth creation of God is even one of the many creations of God which is perfect if we were to view it as an organism itself.

God's power is so immense that even the natural law cannot disobey it.  Taking for example the power he had over the seas which he calmed, the sun which he made to standstill during the war with the Amalekites at the desert of Rephidim; this is practically, a display that with God time is immaterial and the matter which is the sun and the forces that push and pull in the universe.

Saying this, it is sure to say that the atheists will never believe on this phenomenon mainly because they were not born in the days of Moses.  They have not seen it.

God the creator of all things is outside of his creation and therefore no man will ever know him for of a truth the Spirit is not of the flesh.  The Spirit is not a matter.  The Spirit can go wherever it would want to go and whatever it can wish to do. Having said that, God is indeed above the law.
